RD Burman along with his parents, SD Burman and Meera used to stay on South End Park. RD, a typical Kolkata boy, had studied here and had great respect for the city and its musicians till his untimely death. He had composed some of the immortal Puja numbers. He sang — “Mone pore Ruby Roy kobitae tomake” which was an instant back in those Puja days. He composed songs like Moyena bolo tumi Krishna radhe, kine de reshmi churi, chokhe chokhe kotha bolo, sabdhye bela tumi ami boshe achi dujone, which were sung by Asha Bhosle and all these songs became super duper Puja hit.
