first_imgHarmanpreet Kaur struck an amazing hundred to help India post a challenging 281/4 against Australia in a rain-shortened 42-overs-a-side Women’s World Cup semi-final at Derby.Kaur reached her third century in One Day Internationals with a couple of runs off Kristen Beams in the 35th over. The 115-ball knock was laced with 20 fours and 7 sixes as she hit her career-best score of 171.Kaur, who hit a fifty in India’s must-win league game against New Zealand, joined captain Mithali Raj after India were reduced to 35/2 in 9.2 overs.Kaur was at her aggressive best from the first ball and played the shots at will as the duo put on an important 66-run stand for the third wicket.She earlier also hammered the 100th sixth of the ongoing tournament.The 28-year-old last year became the first Indian to play in Women’s Big Bash League for Sydney Thunder. She had also got offers from two other WBBL franchises, including the inaugural edition’s runners-up Sydney Sixers.last_img
