first_imgThe roadsigns diverting traffic away from Milford which have left traders outraged.Business owners in Milford are fuming after bungling council officials left a barrage of road-signs diverting traffic away from the town.The signage, which is located at the LIDL supermarket junction, diverts traffic to the Harry Blaney Bridge out of the town.The signage gave no indication that people could still continue on and carry about their business or visit Milford. The barrage of road-signs diverting traffic away from Milford.Traders are furious at the loss of visitors into the town and are blaming Donegal County Council for the calamity.And even worse is the fact that the diversion signs are due to remain in place until August 15th.A number of local businesses contacted the council yesterday at 2pm but are still awaiting a reply.John McAteer, editor and co-owner of the Milford-based Tirconail Tribune newspaper, said people are fuming locally. “This is nothing short of a shambles and the council need to rectify this as soon as possible.“People coming into the town, either locals or strangers, had no idea they could continue into Milford as it was not affected by the diversion.“Business owners are understandably outraged by this mix-up.
