Kouyate and Tomkins hand West Ham injury boost

first_img1 West Ham have been given an injury boost after manager Sam Allardyce confirmed that Cheikhou Kouyate and James Tomkins will be in the squad to face Manchester City this weekend.Kouyate has been out for around a month with a hamstring problem which he picked up against Liverpool in September, while Tomkins missed last week’s 3-1 win over Burnley with a thigh niggle. Both players, however, have recovered from their respective injuries and will be in the Hammers squad to face second-placed City on Saturday. The return of summer signing Kouyate is a particular boost for the east London side as initial scans suggested that he would not return until November.“We’ve got Cheikhou and James Tomkins back and no new injuries this week,” said Allardyce.“The other players that were out are making good progress so they should be back with us shortly. We’ve got a few out but we’re getting better.” James Tomkins in action for West Ham last_img
